No, it wasn't the Russians.

A number of facebook users today reported being randomly locked out of their accounts, and some immediately feared the worst. Was this event evidence of hackers trying to steal valuable holiday pictures? Or perhaps proof of big Brother in action? BUT..... a facebook spokesperson confirmed that the offender behind the latest lockout was actually ... Facebook. “earlier today an error in one of our systems designed to assist preventing suspicious account access sent a small set of people to our account restoration flow unnecessarily," explained the spokesperson. "we've got this problem fixed and we are in the process of clearing the affected accounts from this restoration flow." Read More....
