This new app will warn undocumented immigrants of raids in Trump’s US

Months into Donald Trump’s presidency, more than 680 undocumented immigrants have been forced to depart the united states in a chain of mass raids. That is an average of approximately 28 human beings every day.

Now, a 27 year old internet developer and designer Celso Mireles, once an undocumented immigrant himself, is developing an open source app with the purpose to show people precisely when and where these raids are occurring, as Vice’s Motherboard reports.

Even within the development phase, RedadAlertas (or “raid alerts”) plans to provide validated, secure records about when the government sends-in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to round humans up. Read extra…
